'Bottled it!' - Arsenal fans revel in Erling Haaland error as Man City sent brutal title message

Large sections of the Arsenal fanbase have poked fun at Manchester City for dropping points against Nottingham Forest in the race for the Premier League title. With a game in hand, the Gunners lead the reigning champions by two-points after Pep Guardiola's side conceded a late equaliser on the banks of the River Trent.

Brennan Johnson left Rodri in his wake before Morgan Gibbs-White was slotted in-behind. The 23-year-old then fizzed a delivery across the six-yard box, finding Chris Wood at the back-post, unmarked, to claw back a point.

City failed to capitalise on a number of guilt-edged opportunities — namely, Erling Haaland — which they have been left to rue. Guardiola would have been desperate to build upon the fresh momentum generated from the midweek win over Arsenal but, following late strikes from Jorginho and Gabriel Martinelli, the pendulum has sung back in the Gunners' favour.

So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at some of the best reaction to Forest's late equaliser as Arsenal fans revel in City's misfortune.

@sznnyz tweeted: "do city just not want to win the league lmao? they’ve had 4+ chances to take the top of the table from arsenal and have bottled it."

@DammitArsenal tweeted: "Throughout the week, We were ridiculed for being out of the title race, but now we are back at top. I love this game so much, haha."

@acapmeru tweeted: "An Arsenal's hard fought win coupled with a disappointing draw by Man City, it's The Gunners's EPL title to lose. If they managed to lose that, no doubts, it's the best football league in the world. Unpredictable."

@VIPArsenal tweeted: "Haaland missed a sitter today that cost his side 2 points, but he isn't called Nketiah so we won't hear about it."

@PatrickTimmons1 tweeted: "Dramatic Arsenal win. Emi Martínez last minute own goal. City dropping points. Chelsea losing against 20th placed Southampton. Two points clear with a game in hand. Not bad."

@OwurahJ tweeted: "We are winning this Premier League Title. Everything looks great and perfect for us to go all the way now."
