Boston’s Jayson Tatum explains why he thinks the Celtics started the season so poorly

The Boston Celtics are in the midst of one of the most impressive in-season turnarounds in the history of the modern NBA. From a 17-19 start during which they fell as low as 11th in the league’s Eastern Conference standings to their present situation, a virtual statistical tie for second place in the East with a 46-28 record and the most wins in the Association since the start of 2022.

Speaking with CBS Sports HQ, Celtics star Jayson Tatum explained what he thought it was that had been holding the team back to start the 2021-22 season on such a poor footing — as well as what got things moving in the right direction again.

“I think honestly, it came to a point a season where we just got healthy,” suggested the former Duke standout.
