In the midst of the Boston Celtics’ 129 – 106 annihilation of their Atlantic Division foes for the evening, the Brooklyn Nets, forward Grant Williams signaled to his teammate Jayson Tatum to hoist up an alley-oop over the Nets’ defenders between the St. Louis native and the basket.
Instead, Tatum chose to attack the cup himself, embracing the contact and flushing a commanding dunk on the heads of his defenders while Williams could be seen mouthing “Wow!” in response to the Duke product’s split-second decision Thursday night. Speaking to the press after the game, Tatum shed some light on his thought process behind his decision to go for the highlight-reel dunk.
“First of all, I love Grant to death,” began the Celtics star.
