Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was recently asked about the rumors and speculation surrounding his involvement in recruiting superstar Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard to the Celtics after the Blazers star made it clear he wants out of Portland.
Tatum might not be overtly pushing for a Lillard trade, but the St. Louis native and Lillard are friends with each other and have traded barbs in jest in the past over the Portland guard’s reluctance to play for the Celtics. That ambiguity has sparked some speculation about what could be going on behind the scenes, but Tatum pushed back on any idea he is trying to get Lillard to Boston. Should we believe him, or could this be more posturing?
