Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown was one of the only stars in several years to take part in the NBA’s 2024 Slam Dunk Contest in this tear’s All-Star Week proceedings, and just the fifth active Celtics player ever to take part in it. There were some justifiable grumbles about how the event was scored in some corners, but Brown’s dunks were solid, and helped breathe new life into a sometimes stale event.
The Georgia native paid homage to another No. 7-wearing Brown at the Dunk Contest in Dee, as well as former Boston forward Dominique Wilkins, before finishing off his dunk triumvirate with a tribute to fallen friend and teammate Terrence Clarke that struck a chord with fans.
