The Boston Celtics did not have the home crowd going on Tuesday night.
As the Celtics fell behind 88-72 during of Game 5 between Boston and the Philadelphia 76ers, the fans at TD Garden brought out the boos with thunderous frustration.
With the series tied 2-2, Game 5 was obviously a crucial one for both teams, and it’s never easy when an NBA title favorite like the Celtics struggles at home.
However, the game was still very much within reach, and you have to imagine the home crowd turning on Boston with this much venom probably didn’t help the whole comeback thing. Like this is brutal.

Boston fans have won plenty of championships across many a sport over the years, and they should know by now that booing your own team doesn’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence.
It’s the polar opposite of the Herb Brooks/Miracle halftime locker room speech in terms of vibes, and you can’t really blame just the Celtics after this if Boston fell 3-2 in the series to Philadelphia after this game. When you boo your team, you can’t be all that shocked when they lose.
