Boston Celtics shut down Pistons in overtime to win 128-122

In a closely contested game vs. the team in the NBA with the longest active losing streak in a single season, the Boston Celtics secured a tough overtime win against a desperate Detroit Pistons. Despite facing a significant deficit in the contest’s first quarter with Boston falling into a 21-point hole, the Celtics clawed their way back into the game, eventually sealing the victory.

The matchup was not without its challenges to say the least, with both teams grappling to gain control throughout the first four quarters, with Boston finally asserting control in the waning moments of overtime. At least some of the problems were due to Jayson Tatum’s shooting struggles, particularly from beyond the arc. The Celtics star took 11 3-point attempts, making only two of them.

All in all, a win is a win, but as the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” noted, it wasn’t Boston’s best game of the season even if it may have been their toughest win.
