The Boston Celtics have come in second in Bleacher Report’s preseason power rankings, behind only the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets. In a recent assessment written up by Andy Bailey, the B/R analyst reveals Boston got the nod at No. 20 because “Kristaps Porzingis’ “fit alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown couldn’t have looked much better in the preseason.”
“His way-beyond-the-three-point-line shooting ability will force opposing bigs to chase him when he’s 25-30 feet from the rim,” adds Bailey. “And that will make driving lanes as wide as they’ve ever been for the Jays.”
“KP’s rim protection and the wings’ perimeter defense should make Boston formidable on defense too.”

“And with the dynamic of those three supported by Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford, Boston may have the league’s best top six,” suggests the B/R analyst.
