Boss of Rangers' Europa League rivals suffers major health scare

Nice suffered a scare ahead of their Europa League showdown with Rangers after manager Franck Haise was rushed to hospital.

Rangers face a daunting task in France against a Nice side who have only lost one game at home since March and are unbeaten in their last eight games.

However, Nice manager Haise was taken ill after complaining of severe headaches after their 2-1 win against Strasbourg at the weekend and missed the post-match media duties.

His situation was deemed serious enough for Haise to be rushed to the city's Pasteur Hospital where he underwent tests and spent the night.

But he's been given the all-clear to resume his responsibilities by doctors and he is expected to be in the dug-out opposite under-pressure Ibrox boss Philippe Clement on Thursday night.

Nice No.2 Johann Ramare said after their win against Strasbourg: "The victory will give us a lot of confidence against Rangers.

"We know this is a match we have to win in the Europa League if we are serious about progressing."

Nice have yet to win in the new-look Europa League after two draws and two defeats and sit in 31st place in the league - five points behind tenth-placed Rangers.
