Borussia Dortmund make Erling Haaland 'contract offer' plus Man City transfer rumours

Borussia Dortmund are looking to keep hold of in-demand striker Erling Haaland, according to reports.

Manchester City are one of the European juggernauts heavily interested in acquiring the prolific striker, with Real Madrid and Barcelona among the other names touted.

This summer looks set to be a busy one for the 21-year-old, with both Spanish giants and the Blues, along with Manchester United and others, looking to bring the attacker to their respective clubs — with a £67m release clause becoming active at the end of the season.

Recent reports have suggested that Carlo Ancelotti's side have explored avenues of loaning Haaland back to Signal Iduna Park for a season as they look to bring Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu this summer, before adding the Norwegian to the squad in 2023.

However, journalist Nicolo Schira via Spanish outlet Sport have reported that Dortmund are looking to extend his stay in the Bundesliga, which would treble his current release clause.

However, it's claimed Haaland would prefer to leave later this year.

Meanwhile, Txiki Begiristain is already working behind the scenes to extend the stay of Fernandinho at the club.

The Brazilian icon is out of contract in the summer with his lengthy stint in Manchester edging towards the end but with Pep Guardiola's approval, work is underway to tie him down for a further year.

That is according to Tocedores via Sport Witness who reports the news as a blow to clubs in Fernandinho's native Brazilian who were looking to snap him up upon the expiry of his current deal.

It has also been reported that Guardiola is looking to add the 36-year-old to his coaching staff.
