Chelsea have been handed a positive injury boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund next month.
Karim Adeyemi - who netted the only goal of the game in midweek - was forced off for Edin Terzic's side earlier today, during their 4-1 win over Hoffenheim. The 21-year-old went down holding his hamstring but did return to applaud supporters following the full-time whistle.
Scoring the only goal of the game in midweek, the extent of the forward's injury is yet to be fully established, as Dortmund face both Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig before the second leg at Stamford Bridge on March 7. BVB are currently level on points with league leaders Bayern Munich and boast an impressive nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Having arrived from Red Bull Salzburg in May 2022, it has been quite the rise for the German international, with his performances so far this season attracting attention from other European clubs. Known for his electric pace and neat dribbling, Adeyemi burst past Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez before rounding goalkeeper to open the scoring in midweek.
Netting six goals and laying on a further three assists this term, the 21-year-old is flourishing with the German side and his recent blow could serve as a boost for Chelsea who at times struggled to deal with his quality on Wednesday evening. The Blues lost 1-0 to Southampton in the Premier League this weekend and are facing a round-of-16 elimination if they cannot turn around the 1-0 deficit in just over two weeks' time.
