Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has mentioned Arsenal when discussing Erling Haaland's future away from the Westfalenstadion.
The Gunners are in need of a top-class striker this summer after allowing former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave the club back in January whilst both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are into the final four months of their respective contracts with the club. football.london understands that the north London outfit may look to sign two centre-forwards this summer and some fans have even sensationally theorised that the club will try and sign the aforementioned Haaland at the end of the current campaign.
Now, Watzke has spoken about the Norwegian international's future, telling German outlet Sport Bild: "I've given up judging media rumours. Otherwise, my day would have to have 36 hours. We don't currently know anything specific from the player side, nor has anyone approached us.

"However, we cannot keep up financially if Manchester City comes in [for Haaland]." He added: "We've seen it a few times: we lost [Robert] Lewandowski to Bayern in 2014 and [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang to Arsenal in 2018."
Whilst Watzke does mention Arsenal's financial power, speaking about when the Gunners were able to sign Aubameyang from the Bundesliga giants back in January 2018, a move for Haaland appears extremely unlikely this summer according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano said: "I see some Arsenal fans asking about Erling Haaland but guys, no. Erling Haaland is not a realistic possibility for this summer for Arsenal.
"But they are exploring the market for many strikers."
