Stunned Borna Barisic has accused his international team-mates of surrendering as Croatia crashed to their first ever defeat in his home town of Osijek.
Croatia hosted Austria in the Nations League, but were stunned by a 3-0 loss IN their opening clash.
Celtic defender Josip Juranovic started while and Barisic came off the bench as Croatia lost for the first time at the City Gardens stadium in Osijek.
And Rangers man Barisic has demanded improvement from his teammates after the shock defeat.
He said: "After the second goal went in, it was as if we all surrendered.
"We have to admit that to the fans. We tried something during the game and it was obvious it didn't work. We were a real disappointment to the supporters.
"We conceded three terrible goals and we didn't do enough.
"It is really important now we show a reaction in Split when we play France.
"France lost at home too to Denmark so they will be really disappointed too. That will make it even harder for us.
"I am sure we will continue to have a great support for the game and we have to make it up to them because that wasn't good enough."
