Borna Barisic Rangers transfer exit 'meeting' held as Trabzonspor and 2 other potential destinations emerge

In-demand Borna Barisic is reportedly attracting interest from several clubs in Turkey this summer.

The Croatian international impressed on Rangers route to the Europa League final last season as he recaptured his best form under Gio van Bronckhorst.

That has seen Turkish giants Trabzonspor linked with an approach for the 29-year-old.

The Ibrox side have previously shut down interest from Watford but their resolve could be tested against ahead of looking to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title.

Turkish outlet En Son Haber report that the Super Lig side have held an "official meeting" with Rangers over a potential move.

They note that at least two other unnamed Turkish sides are monitoring the situation as they weigh up a bid.

Trabzonspor reportedly see a new left-back as "key" in preparation for the Champions League next term after lifting the title for the first time in 38 years.

Barisic addressed his future while preparing for Croatia's Nations League fixtures, stating: “I don't know only about the club, but I am good there and enjoy it.

“However in football you never know, there are always some inquiries.

"There could be an offer that satisfies the club and me. Of course you will leave (then) but until then it does not go further.”
