Out-of-favour Borna Barisic confessed he's "not happy" at being consigned to the Rangers bench.
But the Ibrox star stressed there's no "drama" between he and manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Barisic was one of the stars of the Ibrox side's title triumph last season but a nightmare display against Celtic has dropped him behind Calvin Bassey in the pecking order.
The Croatian, on international duty in Qatar, has since started only four of 13 matches for the Premiership champions.
Barisic, however, is adamant he will not lose heart.
He said: "As far as Rangers goes, I'm still playing plenty of minutes because we are playing every three or four days at the moment.
"I haven't played in a few games and I'm not happy about that, but it's not a drama.
"It's been a fairytale for me at Rangers and some things have changed now. But it's nothing terrible."
Barisic could feature in a new formation for Croatia, with manager Zlatko Dalic set to try out a new-look, three-at-the-back formation in the friendlies.
And the 29-year-old would be more comfortable playing as a wing back.
He stated: "Throughout my career, I have played more often in a four-man defence, although I have also played wide with three at the back.
"I have to be honest and say I prefer the second option.
"You have more freedom to move forward and it suits me. The wingback can get up and down the sides and I would be ready to cover that position.
"I can't wait to go to Qatar and play these games. It will be a good test for us and it will be good to try out different formations over there."
