A UK cabinet meeting convened to sign off the end of covid regulations has been postponed.
The Monday morning cabinet meeting which was due to start at 10.30am was postponed at short notice after many Ministers had already arrived in Downing Street.
The meeting had been called to formally review the expected announcement of an end to covid self-isolation rules in the England.
There were suggestions that the delay was caused by rows over funding which cast doubt on the announcement due later on Monday that covid self-isolation rules would be abandoned in England later this week and testing would be cut back.
But with tensions rising on the Ukraine border, and the Queen diagnosed with covid on the weekend, Westminster was unnerved by the sudden move.
