Tom Homan, the border czar appointed by President Donald Trump, highlighted a significant decrease in border encounters, describing it as a record low. In a recent interview with Fox News, Homan stated that there were only 229 total encounters at the Southwest border in a 24-hour period. This number is in stark contrast to the 11,000 daily encounters reported during the Biden administration.
Homan emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of criminal migrants, noting that there are nearly 600,000 illegal aliens in the United States with criminal convictions. He expressed his determination to eradicate this population entirely.

Responding to comparisons between Trump's immigration arrests and those under President Biden, Homan defended the decrease in border arrests during the Trump administration, attributing it to enhanced border security measures.
According to Homan, the decline in border encounters is a direct result of the stringent border policies implemented during Trump's presidency. He asserted that the decrease in arrests signifies the success of efforts to secure the border and prevent illegal crossings.
While acknowledging the progress made in reducing border encounters, Homan reiterated his commitment to eliminating criminal migrants from the country. He emphasized the need for continued vigilance and enforcement to ensure the safety and security of the nation's borders.
