The Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, have committed to playing basketball for Duke University, following in the footsteps of their father, Carlos Boozer. Both brothers, highly touted five-star prospects, made their announcement in a video shared on The Players' Tribune.
Cameron, a 6-foot-9 power forward, is ranked as the No. 2 college prospect in ESPN's top 100 list, while Cayden, a 6-5 guard, is ranked No. 17 by ESPN. The Boozer brothers are the first commitments to Duke's class of 2025, marking a significant recruiting success for Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer, who succeeded legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski in 2022.
Under Scheyer's leadership, Duke secured the top-rated recruiting class for the current season, headlined by 6-9 forward Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 recruit who is projected as the potential top pick in the upcoming NBA draft if he opts to leave college early. In addition to Flagg, Scheyer also brought in top prospects like 6-7 Isaiah Foster (No. 15), 6-5 Kon Knueppal (No. 19), 6-10 Pat Ngongba (No. 26), and 6-4 Darren Harris (No. 31).
Carlos Boozer, the twins' father, played for Duke from 1999 to 2002 and was a key member of the Blue Devils' national championship team in 2001. He went on to have a successful NBA career, being a first-round pick in the 2002 draft and playing for teams like Cleveland, Utah, Chicago, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Expressing his pride, Carlos Boozer stated, 'They made the best decision for them. Me and Mom couldn’t be any prouder. It’s going to be a fun journey.' The Boozer brothers' commitment adds to the rich basketball legacy at Duke University, further solidifying the program's reputation as a powerhouse in college basketball.
