Boots to introduce permanent change impacting all shoppers without an Advantage Card

British health and beauty retailer Boots have made a change to the way its customers will now shop.

The popular high street brand is well known for its loyal card scheme where users collect points on their advantage card each time they shop.

Now in a confirmed move, the chain who also has a number of pharmacies across the UK, will bring back its Price Advantage initiative permanently.

This means that anyone with an Advantage Card will get exclusive discounts on around 150 products each month compared to shoppers without and all shoppers have to do is hand over their card and have their products scanned at a lower price.

Customers will know if an item is included in the Price Advantage as they will feature a pink sticker on them showing the price for Advantage Card holders and the price for other shoppers - just as they do in Tesco for Clubcard members, reports Edinburgh Live.

What is the Boots Advantage Card and how does the points system work?

Signing up to the Boots Advantage Card is completely free and it takes seconds to sign up - this can be done via the Boots website and there is no cost associated with it.

The scheme allows you to accrue points as you shop and once it builds up, you can buy a shop with your points.

Advantage Card holders get four points for every £1 spent - and points are worth 1p each in return.

This means if you collect 100 points, you’d have £1 to spend, while 1,000 points are worth £10.
