Boots is set to close the doors of as many as 300 of its stores across the UK over the next 12 months. With 20 stores located across the city, Bristolians may have to travel further to find their local store, especially in the centre, with three just a short distance from each other.
A spokesperson for Boots was unable to share details of which stores specifically across the country would be closing with Bristol Live. She said: “We aren’t releasing details of the affected stores at the moment, but will share further information on planned closures over the coming months.”

The closures would see the chain lose around 13 per cent of its stores, and while the store may be closing, staff will not lose their jobs. Gloucestershire Live reported that Boots has said no staff members will lose their jobs.
A spokesperson for Boots said: “Evolving the store estate in this way allows Boots to concentrate its team members where they are needed and focus investment more acutely in individual stores with the ambition of consistently delivering an excellent and reliable service in a fresh and up-to-date environment.”
