High street health and beauty retailer Boots had frozen the prices on 1,500 of their products to help struggling customers amid the cost of living crisis. Own brand products such as toiletries, haircare, dental, health, wellness and beauty will be price locked until at least the end of the year.
It comes as cost of living pressures continue to rise for shoppers, with the retailer hoping their Boots branded buys will remain affordable for customers, combining a selection of favourites with essentials like toothpaste, shampoo and nappies.
There are 11,000 Boots branded products available, with prices starting from as little as 40p, with 100 lines £1 or less, and 1,000 products £2 and under.

Prices will be locked until the end of the year as part of Boots Price Lock Promise, with the products selected being those that customers buy most frequently.
Steve Ager, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Boots UK said: “We always try to offer great value and the best price for our customers. In pulling together the list of products to include in the Price Lock Promise, we reviewed the lines that customers buy most regularly as well as those that are deemed to be day-to-day essentials.
“We want customers to feel reassured that the prices of a large selection of health and beauty favourites will be staying the same, helping them to continue to buy the quality lines they love at Boots.”
As well as freezing prices, earlier this year Boots launched their Price Advantage scheme, which provides Boots Advantage Card holders with exclusive discounts on over 400 products each month. With an average saving of £2.65 per product, the scheme has helped customers to save over £8 million to date.
In store, products included in the offer can be recognised by a pink ticket, which displays that lower price for Advantage Card holders, but online shoppers will see a little red box above the retail price that reads, for example, ‘£10 with Advantage Card’.
Boots also offers over 1,300 deals or promotions at any one time in its stores and online. Their weekly £10 Tuesday flash sale is fast becoming a cult favourite with savvy shoppers who snap up money saving deals on big brand products every week.
The high street chain continues to donate essential products to The Hygiene Bank to help provide families living in poverty with access to much needed support. Boots has donated over 680,000 products to the scheme since 2020, and customers can also contribute via donation points in over 470 stores or through e-vouchers on boots.com.
The price freeze move follows Superdrug, who locked prices on more than 100 products as part of a Shop Smart campaign in collaboration with Jack Monroe.
