A boss of a Nottingham-based international company has more than doubled his pay in 2023. Sebastian James, who is understood to be the highest-paid director of Boots took home £3.8m last year in 2022, according to the company's financial reports.
Documents show that Mr James took home £1.9m in fixed pay last year as well as £1.8m in long-term incentives and a further £100,000 in "company contributions to defined contribution schemes". This is more than double his £1.5m from 2021.
This comes as Boots UK Limited reported a £47 million increase in its operating profit to £55 million from 2021 to 2022. Boots has more than 2,000 stores nationwide and has its headquarters in Nottingham.
It was founded in the city in 1849 and has since grown into an international company, with stores across the globe.
The retailer remains a popular choice with shoppers looking to get their hands on a range of health and beauty items, including drugstore and high-end brands.
