Boots announces big change to how its Advantage Card works - and it'll be similar to Tesco

Boots has announced a major change to how its Advantage Card works.

Shoppers who have a card are able to earn points on every shop, and when they have enough points saved up they can use them to buy an item.

Lots of people like to save up their points all year, and then use them to buy Christmas presents - as they're always plenty of offers on.

But now the national pharmacy chain is introducing a new rule, but don't worry it's good news for customers.

Boots is bringing back its Price Advantage initiative permanently, which gives card holders exclusive discounts in over 2,000 stores across the UK, Edinburgh Live reports.

All shoppers have to do is hand over their card and have their products scanned at a lower price.

Customers will know if an item is included in the Price Advantage as they’ll be advertised with a pink sticker in stores.

The pink stickers will show the price for Advantage Card holders and the price for other shoppers - in the same way Tesco Clubcard holders can at the major supermarket.

Boots says shoppers will see discounts on around 150 products each month.

What is an Advantage Card?

It is free to sign up for an Advantage Card - you can do this on the Boots website - and the scheme allows you to accrue points as you shop.

Advantage Card holders get four points for every £1 spent - and points are worth 1p each in return.

This means if you collect 100 points, you’d have £1 to spend, while 1,000 points are worth £10.
