Boots and LookFantastic launch major savings events to rival Amazon Prime Day

As Amazon Prime Day approaches, retailers have been busy slashing prices and dealing out discounts in a bid to rival the major 48-hour shopping event. Beauty buffs looking to snap up a bargain really have got the pick of the bunch over the next few days, with Boots and LookFantastic both revealing huge offers on cosmetics, haircare, electrical beauty and more.

These summer saving events provide shoppers with the opportunity to stock up on their most-loved products, discover new favourites, and indulge in treats that would otherwise be unaffordable.

Before we dive into the Boots ‘Prime Time’ deals and LookFantastic’s big beauty takeover, it’s worth taking a moment to see what Amazon is offering in terms of discounts and deals this week. While the official Amazon Prime Day offers won’t be revealed until the start of the event on July 11-12, some offers are live already as ‘early Prime Day Deals’.

Some of the offers are more broad than others, with up to 30 per cent off ghd products - while other deals are more specific, like these £80 Remington straighteners reduced to £28. Some shoppers have even said they’re ‘better’ than ghd, so it’s always worth reading the reviews to see where the best deals are.

Meanwhile, our fave celeb-loved moisturiser Embryolisse is down to £15 from £20, and the Nip + Fab Glycolic Acid Fix Face Scrub Extreme with Salicylic Acid is down to just £10 at Amazon, whereas the cheapest we’ve seen it at Boots is for £11.25.

That said, Boots have launched a whopping saving event full of ‘prime time’ deals , with seven days of ‘unbeatable’ offers across beauty, baby, electronics and more. The discounts launched yesterday, July 6, with savings on best-selling brands such as No7, Oral-B, L’Oréal and Phillips.

The Boots prime time deals include:

  • Save 15% when you spend £20 or more on selected haircare

  • Save up to 30% on self-selection cosmetics

  • Better than half price on selected electrical beauty

  • Save up to half price on selected health and wellness

  • Save up to 30% on Mothercare

  • Save 10% on selected skincare using code: SKIN10

Alongside the 30% off on self-selection cosmetics offer, shoppers who spend £20 or more on certain brands like Rimmel or Max Factor, can also get the Beauty Heroes box featuring at least £30 worth of makeup for free. We worked out you can get around £65 worth of beauty buys for just £20 - read about how we did it here.

And that’s not all, because Boots Advantage Card holders can also rack up extra points on certain products, including an extra £20 worth of Advantage Card points when they buy Cloud Nine , and £65 worth of points when they buy the topaz Dyson Airwrap.

These deals are all available to shop right now, but those looking to snag a bargain on LookFantastic will have to hold out a little longer. The online retailer is hosting a ‘big beauty takeover’ , starting on Monday, July 10, with a week’s worth of offers including up to 40 per cent off leading brands.

Some of the LookFantastic deals set to launch on Monday include:

  • Up to 40% off haircare from brands including Kerastase, Christophe Robin, Color Wow, Grow Gorgeous

  • Up to 40% off bodycare from brands including Tan-Luxe, St. Tropez, AMELIORATE and Ultrasun

  • Up to 33% off skincare from brands including ESPA, LA Roche-Posay, Foreo, and Sarah Chapman

  • Up to 30% off cosmetics from brands including MAC, Urban Decay, Yves Saint Laurent and Nudestix
