Boost for Aer Lingus passengers as just one flight cancelled today amid staff shortages

Aer Lingus passengers have been affected by many cancellations over recent weeks as the Irish carrier deals with the fallout of the latest Covid wave.

With the high volume of cases in Ireland, as the Omicron sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5 spread rapidly, many airlines across the globe have been coping with a high number of absences as a result.

Things are likely to settle down over the coming days and weeks as many experts point to the end of this wave - but warn of a worse situation in winter.
