Head coach Ryan Day has mentioned that there was a large need for running backs for the 2024 Ohio State recruiting class.
After tonight, the search for a second begins as Texas back James Peoples announced his commitment to the Buckeyes while on a spring visit to Columbus. It was believed that Peoples favored Ohio State entering the visit, but the verbal was a bit surprising so soon.
Buy Buckeyes TicketsThe 5-foot, 11-inch, 196-pound Lone Star State star still had several visits scheduled, but he must have liked what he saw while in Columbus to go ahead and pull the trigger. Peoples is a top-five rated running back and 69th overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
It’s a little salve to the perceived wound of losing out to in-state running back Joran Marshall to Michigan.
I Wanted to thank my Family, Coaches, and Friends for supporting me through this entire process. I wanted to also thank all the Universities who have recruited me… With that being said I will be Committing to the University OF 🅾️HIO STATE 🌰‼️@OhioStateFB @Bucknuts247 @Birm pic.twitter.com/LvRrNcWoOP

Peoples is the 7th commit of the 2024 class and the third top 100 player to commit to the Buckeyes in what is shaping up to be another stellar recruiting class.
