It’s been a flurry of commitments for the Ohio State football team as of late, and that continued on Tuesday night with the commitment of 4-star linebacker Payton Pierce.
Out of Lucas Texas, the 6-foot, 1-inch, backer is rated as the No. 15 linebacker and 164th overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Pierce’s commitment makes it ten total verbals for the class. He is rated as high as No. 2 in available linebackers according to other recruiting services.

The commitment continues some serious recruiting momentum for Ohio State that should push back against some analysts like Brayon Edwards who has been saying that the Buckeyes are “falling apart” because of where Michigan was in relation to Ohio State.
By the way, with the news today, the Buckeyes now have a higher-ranked recruiting class than Michigan according to most recruiting services, including the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
