Bookies slash odds of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending Coronation after 'big shift'

The odds of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending King Charles' Coronation have been slashed by bookies.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed previously that they have been invited to the Westminster Abbey event on May 6 and it's been reported the Royal Family are "fully expecting" them to attend, however it's not known if they will actually be there due to tensions within the royal family being at an all time high.

After the release of Harry's memoir Spare earlier this year, in which he detailed some shocking allegations about his relatives, it's common knowledge that it's left a strain on some of their relationships.

It's an issue that's got people talking across the globe - with former royal butler Paul Burrell telling the 38-year-old to "stay in America" with his wife to "live a long and happy life" as he still hasn't felt the wrath of his dad fully, and Oprah Winfrey having her say on the matter, which was that the couple should do what they want to do.

A total of 2,000 people will be in attendance at the event but Harry and Meghan could stay at home in California with kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet because of issues raised after the release of Spare, and the fact that the event falls on Archie's birthday.

And now Coral has cut its odds to 1-3 that Harry and Meghan will be part of the crowd, dropping from 4-5 earlier this week.

Spokesman John Hill said: "There has been a big shift in our betting in the last 24 hours on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending King Charles III’s Official Coronation.

"We now make the couple as short as 1/3 to attend. Those odds indicate there is a 75% chance that they will take their seats at Westminster Abbey."

Millions are expected to watch the event on TV as Charles is crowned King at Westminster Abbey alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, in front of the world leaders and foreign royals.
