A raft of businesses based across the North West have announced a string of top hires and promotions over the past weeks.
The likes of Boohoo, N Brown and Siemens have all made major appointments.

Boohoo
A former chairman of New Look and chief executive of Matalan has joined Boohoo.
Alistair McGeorge has become an independent non-executive director at the Manchester-headquartered fashion giant.
He also succeeds Brian Small as its deputy chairman and is to act as chairman of the audit committee for an interim period.
DeliveryApp
The former chief executive of parcel delivery giant DPD has been named as the new boss of a Manchester technology company.
Dwain McDonald had been with DPD since 1988 and had served as its CEO since 2008.
Now he has been named as the new chief executive of DeliveryApp, succeeding founder Lance Jones who has become its executive chairman.
Jackson Lees
Law firm Jackson Lees has expanded its new corporate and commercial team with the appointment of Rebecca Emmitt, who joins as a commercial property lawyer.
She said: "I was massively drawn to the working culture at Jackson Lees. It’s important for me to be surrounded by like-minded colleagues who emphasise kindness in every part of their working day and have good morals.
"I am excited to contribute towards the development and expansion of the team and I believe my pragmatic approach to the team and commitment to great client care and a high level of service will help us go from strength to strength and continue to grow."
Panattoni
Logistics real estate developer Panattoni has appointed Scott Meakin as a development surveyor to work on projects across the north of England.
Mr Meakin has joined from Tritax Symmetry, the logistics development arm of Tritax Big Box REIT plc. He will be based in the company's Manchester office.
Dan Burn, head of development for the North West and Yorkshire, said: "Scott is a talented individual, who will play a key role in supporting our continuing development strategy in the UK."
Fisher German
A property consultancy has announced 10 promotions across its North West offices.
Fisher German has made the promotions, including two partner promotions, at its Knutsford, Chester, Liverpool, and Manchester offices.
Simon Geary, who joined Fisher German’s Knutsford office in 2005 and works in the firm’s commercial property management team, and Hugh Platt, who joined the same office in 2016 and works in the rural property management team, have been invited to join the partnership.
Other promotions include Rebecca Hannah, based in Knutsford, who was promoted to associate partner, while at the Chester office there were promotions for Nia Borsey who has progressed to associate and Katherine Lewis to senior surveyor.
In Liverpool, Jonathan Young was promoted to associate partner, Rebecca Rouse to associate, Tom Parry to senior associate and Gabriel Davies to senior surveyor, and Libby Clarke, in Manchester, has progressed to associate. There was also one progression within the partnership in the North West.
Siemens
Siemens has appointed Karen Fenwick as head of communications at Siemens Great Britain & Ireland, which is headquartered in Manchester.
Reporting to CEO Carl Ennis, Karen joins the technology company from Venator Materials, where she was vice president, corporate branding and communication.
She said: "I am delighted to join the Siemens team, the company is building on a legacy of both technology and brand strength and there are exciting prospects ahead with innovation and sustainability at the heart of what Siemens does."
Morgan Sindall Construction
Morgan Sindall Construction has appointed Simon Arnott as its new managing director for the North West.
Mr Arnott replaces Barry Roberts who decided last year that he would be stepping down.
The new MD joined the Morgan Sindall Group in 2014 and has been part of the leadership team at Morgan Sindall Construction for the past five years.
N Brown
Manchester-based fashion group N Brown has appointed Meg Lustman as an independent non-executive director.
She has over 35 years of experience in the retail industry, latterly as CEO of Hobbs.
She said: "N Brown has great people who have an obvious pride for what they do. I look forward to supporting the Group as it moves forward on its transformation journey."
Studio Up North
Lancashire-based brand agency Studio Up North (SUN) has announced the promotion of Ya’Qub Mir as lead designer.
He said said: "I’m made-up to have been promoted to Lead Designer. Over the past four years, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects and to be part of a fantastic team. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and develop within my role, as we continue to expand as an agency."
SUN founder and creative director Jamie Kelly added: "Ya’Qub has been an integral part of the team here at SUN for almost four years now and has been instrumental in driving our growth. We’re excited to see what the future holds for him."
Dow Schofield Watts
Dow Schofield Watts’ transaction services team in the North West has promoted Ros Jones to partner.
It is the third promotion for the financial due diligence specialist, who joined the firm in 2015 as a manager and has risen through the ranks.
She specialises in advising on bolt-on acquisitions and has experience in the telecoms and legal sectors.
LDC
The North West team of LDC has promoted Grant Goodwin and Jacob Leone to investment directors.
Dale Alderson, partner and head of LDC in the North West, said: "Grant and Jacob are both highly respected members of the corporate finance community here in the North West, and they have a wealth of experience having built relationships with advisers in the region over many years.
"They will continue to play a pivotal role in helping us to increase our investment and strengthen the support we provide to management teams across the region. I’d like to congratulate them both on their new roles."
Harrison Drury
Law firm Harrison Drury has made 10 senior promotions, including a new partner.
Jack Stephenson, who started as a trainee in 2014, has been promoted to the role of partner in the firm’s corporate team.
Also within the corporate team, Tim Grover has been promoted to senior associate and Kerry Southworth has been made an associate.
Rebecca Patience has been made a senior associate in the family law team, while Joseph Mitchell and Matt Astley become senior associates in property litigation and commercial litigation respectively.
Within the commercial property team, Catherine Worthington and Roberto Bonaminio have been promoted to associate.
Private client team members Victoria Hill and Scarlett Richardson have also received promotions with Victoria becoming a senior associate and Scarlett an associate.
Hill Dickinson
Law firm Hill Dickinson has announced the hire of commercial dispute resolution partner Duncan Hope.
He joins the firm’s Manchester-based dispute resolution team from Irwin Mitchell where he led the latter’s national litigation team.
Mr Hope said: "The opportunity to join Hill Dickinson at this point in my career was too good to resist. I’m delighted to become a member of a high performing, award winning, commercial litigation team at a firm which prides itself on acting as a trusted adviser to businesses, organisations and individuals across a wide range of sectors."
Vincents Solicitors
A further six new starters have arrived at Vincent Solicitors in Lytham. They will join five recent senior appointments in the firm’s newly launched office at 21-23 Park Street.
The new recruits are all experienced legal assistants and paralegals who had worked at Linder Myers Solicitors in Lytham until its closure in December. Each has returned to work for their former managers who took up new positions with Vincents in December.
With more than two decades’ experience in private client work, paralegal Joanne Vickers will support clients with wills, probate, lasting power of attorney, trusts and estate planning.
Legal assistant Adrian Stephenson also joins the private client team and will be working for STEP qualified senior solicitor Patricia Prescott, who was among the first to accept a new role with Vincents in December.
David Hinchliffe has recruited his two former assistants Susan Walker, who will provide support for his private client cases, and assistant conveyancer Claire Goodson who will work on his residential property portfolio.
Family law expert Sarah McCarthy has brought in assistant Catherine Harrison to support her clients in divorce, relationship, inheritance, child care and estate administration case. Lynn Salisbury has also joined as receptionist.
