Bongo's Bingo is coming to Wigan... get ready for absolute mayhem

It will be eyes down for the most raucous bingo night in Wigan this spring.

Bongo's Bingo announced it would be coming to The Monaco club in Hindley on April 3, and the response has been that 'overwhelming' bosses have already added a second date on April 12.

The madness is likely to drawn revellers from across the region. It's set to be the biggest night out in the town since Wigan Casino was a magnet for Northern Soul fans.

A cocktail of fancy dress, very loud music, singalongs - and every shout of 'Bingo' triggering a blast of 90s RnB - is guaranteed.

It has already gone down a storm in Manchester following a residency at the Albert Hall.

The night originally started at Liverpool's Camp and Furnace and was a smash there too, selling out every night for six months. It now takes place at Content in Liverpool.

The Wigan venture was announced with a teaser - a picture of Wigan kebab - a pie in a barm to entice for those who spend the weekends saying 'I've not got out fort do'.

The night will hold the promise 'dance-offs, sh*t prizes, big cash prizes and rave rounds'.

The game is not the main attraction.

It is the chaos - including dance music, boxes of Coco Pops liberally thrown about, and cardboard cut outs of Bruce Forsyth.

Famous artists have been hired by the company to headline events across its 50 locations including Manchester, Amsterdam, Ibiza and even Dubai.

John Norcott, who owns The Monaco, a venue for live shows by the likes of Showaddywaddy, and the Bay City Rollers, and tribute bands, shared news on social media, in a post which has been shared more than 500 times. It has attracted more than 1,500 comments and 800 likes from excited locals.

A spokesman for Bongo’s Bingo said: “The award-winning night out combines the traditional, much loved quaint past time with a mesmeric live show, packed full of plenty of bizarre and hilarious moments you won’t experience twice.

"Dance-offs, rave rounds, and weird and wonderful prizes are just a few of the key ingredients creating the winning formula for this magical night.

"Bongo’s Bingo offers a night full of madness, mischief and shared euphoria, with dancing and cheering under one roof to hits from across the ages all night long.”

Tickets for Bongo’s Bingo Wigan debut go on sale at 2pm tomorrow, February 22, via the Bongo’s Bingo app.
