Bonfire Night 2022: All the big fireworks displays happening in Wales

Bonfire Night 2022 is fast approaching - nope, we can't believe it either - and it's time to get the sparklers ready along with the gloves, hats and scarves as we stand outside and stare at the sky for some cracking firework displays. Across the country, there are some great events lined up for family and friends to enjoy Guy Fawke's Night, with a cheeky hot dog or toffee apple.

However, due to the forecast for heavy rain and strong winds in the days ahead, some events are sadly being cancelled this year, including Swansea's main display. Here we round up the firework displays and other events that we know are happening across Wales and we will update the information if an event is cancelled.

Swansea Bay Fireworks - cancelled

When : Saturday, November 5

This year's free fireworks display from Swansea Council which was due to be set off from a barge in Swansea Bay has now been cancelled due to the weather. While alternative locations and dates were explored by council bosses, no other options were considered viable.

“We’re hugely disappointed to have to cancel the fireworks display due to the forecast of severe weather as, like thousands of residents, we were looking forward to an amazing event,” said the council’s council cabinet member, Robert Francis-Davies.

"However, safety was our main consideration and the weather forecast for the next few days is predicting stormy winds and rain. We waited as long as possible to take this decision in the hope that the forecast would change - but now it’s very likely to be severe weather, we’re now forced to cancel.”
