James Trafford - 7
Manchester City loanee followed up last weekend's debut and largely dealt with what Shrewsbury threw at him in the box. Distribution at times a little off but another solid showing generally.
Gethin Jones - 7
Right-back played in central defensive trio again and contributed to keeping aerial duels in check. Gave away possession a few times which allowed quick Shrewsbury counters.
Ricardo Santos - 7
Rarely put a foot wrong at the back in the middle of the back three and almost always came out on top of one v one duels.
George Johnston - 7
Not afraid to come out of the back three with the ball and generally solid showing at the back from former Wigan Athletic loanee.
Marlon Fossey - 6.5
Like John, a threat going forward but struggled at times to stop crossing threat from his flank from Shrewsbury.
Kieran Lee - 6
Looked bright on the ball when he had it in the first half, but did not emerge after the break and was replaced by Afolayan.
MJ Williams - 6.5
In the right place to make interceptions when needed, but passing off key at times, which is a rare sight.
Aaron Morley - 7
Played alongside Williams in the middle of the park and had a solid outing on his second Bolton appearance.
Declan John - 6
Put in some decent crosses when forward but struggled to stop supply at the other end, particualrly in the first half.
Dion Charles - 8
Saw shot blocked by Ethan Ebanks-Landell in the first half and got Matthew Pennington booked. Great work rate off the ball and forced Marko Marosi into action after break and scored goal worthy to win any match.
Amadou Bakayoko 5.5
Largely anonymous in the first half. Improved a bit after the break, but was taken off after the hour for Bodvarsson.
Substitutes
Dapo Afolayan - 7.5
Came on at the break and went into the number 10 role Lee had occupied. Showed some energy and had penalty appeal turned down. Put in cross which led to Charles winner.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson - 5.5
Introduced for debut on the 65 minute mark. Still finding his feet after so long without club first team football and will improve with time.
