Bolton Wanderers linked with transfer window move for Liverpool & Northern Ireland youngster

Bolton Wanderers have been linked with a transfer window move for young Liverpool defender Conor Bradley.

Wanderers have made two acquistions so far this summer. Defender Jack Iredale has joined on a free transfer from Cambridge United to bolster the club's defensive options.

And the club followed that up by announcing the return of goalkeeper James Trafford on loan from Manchester City for the whole of the upcoming campaign. It follows a successful spell at the club by the 19-year-old in the second half of last campaign.

More business is being sought by Wanderers to reinforce the squad further, with the new League One season set to commence at the end of July. Ian Evatt has previously spoken of adopting a quality over quantity approach when it comes to bringing in extra bodies this summer.

One area of the squad which requires bolstering is the far right flank of defence. Wanderers had sought to bring back Marlon Fossey from Fulham following a successful loan spell during the second half of last campaign.

However, that wish appears to no longer be an option owing to interest in the 23-year-old wing-back from the Championship. It means Wanderers will have to look at alternatives.

According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon account, Wanderers have set their sights on Anfield youngster Bradley. The 18-year-old hails from Northern Ireland and has eight caps for his country at senior level.

The right-back has also played five times for Jurgen Klopp's side across the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. All of these appearances came last season.

Encouragingly, the report claims Wanderers are 'first in the queue' for Bradley's services and that the potential move would appeal to his appeal to his parent club. That is owing to the close proximity for the Anfield club to monitor Bradley, as well as his chances of regular football.

Though the player will also have a view on where he plays his football, the possibility of the transfer is said to be moving near a 'positive conclusion'. If it were to happen, it would be the first move away from Liverpool in his senior career.
