Bolton Wanderers are understood to have had a second bid for defender Eoin Toal accepted by Derry City.
The 23-year-old centre half has been a target Wanderers have turned their attentions to to bolster their options in the heart of defence. Ian Evatt's side have made three signings so far this summer.
Jack Iredale has been the only permanent acquisition so far this summer on a free transfer from Cambrige United. Goalkeeper James Trafford and defender Conor Bradley have been brought in on loan from Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

Toal has made more than 150 appearances for Derry and scored six goals. This season, he has turned out 20 times in the League of Ireland Premier Division and scored once.
Wanderers have already had a bid turned down for the defender already for a player they would like to sign this summer. The Whites retain a transfer interest in Toal and he would complement options on the right hand side of the defence.
The Candystripes have recently been knocked out of European competition at the hands of Riga FC in the Europa Conference Leaguee first qualifying round. Derry boss Ruaidhri Higgins admitted after the game that he did not know if Toal had played his last game for the club or not.
But the Manchester Evening News understands that Wanderers have been successful with a return bid for Toal and that he is poised to become Bolton's fourth transfer window signing this summer. It is understood he will have a medical with the League One side early this week.
Toal has been with Derry since 2017, but his contract with the club expires at the end of this November. It means he was due to become a free agent over the winter and Derry could only command a transfer fee before then this summer, which it appears the Candystripes have opted to do following their elimination from European competition.
