Bolton Wanderers defender & winger suffer hamstring injury blows ahead of Barnsley FA Cup tie

Bolton Wanderers will be without winger Lloyd Isgrove and central defender Will Aimson for this weekend's FA Cup clash against Barnsley after the pair picked up hamstring injuries.

Wanderers host the Tykes on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup. A place in the second round and prize money of £41,000 is the reward on offer for the winners.

But Bolton will be without the services of Isgrove and Aimson for the tie and for the coming weeks after the duo picked up hmastring problems. Isgrove is facing up to a month out on the sidelines, with Aimson being out of action for six weeks after picking up the problem in the club's B team game last week against Accrington Stanley.

Bolton boss Ian Evatt said: “Everyone is available and healthy apart from Lloyd. It is not the same injury but it is the same hamstring. It is probably the amount he did in that week.

"He has just got a small tear in the lower part of that hamstring, which is probably three to four weeks. And Will, a bit more of a significant hamstring injury from the B Team game which will probably be six weeks.

“Izzy was worried sick because he said it felt the same as the first time he did it. It shows what he’s been through when you end up happy with a three to four week injury. That’s his mindset and mentality at the moment.

“Will is obviously frustrated, he wanted to play in the B team to get some match minutes, do the right things, but we’ve had a lot of rainfall over the last couple of weeks and sometimes when you gain a significant chance in surface from a firm one to a really heavy one, sprinting and intense pressing, the way we play and train can become a lot more challenging on your muscles.

“I think that’s probably what’s caught a couple out with hamstrings at the moment.”
