Bolton Wanderers defender Joe Bunney has been injured after a car crash, the club has confirmed.
The newly-signed 25-year-old left back suffered broken ribs and a broken collarbone.
The club said in a statement he would remain in hospital for the next 48 hours as a 'precautionary measure'.
No further details have been revealed.
The club also hasn't said how long Bunney is expected to be sidelined for.
He's being supported by the club's medical staff.
In a statement issued on Monday the club said: "Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Joe Bunney has been involved in a road traffic accident.
"The defender received medical attention for broken ribs and a broken collarbone and is being supported by the club's medical staff.
"He will remain in hospital for the next 48 hours as a precautionary measure."

The news will be a blow to new Wanderers boss Keith Hill.
Versatile Bunney was signed on September 2 after ex-Rochdale boss Hill landed the role of Bolton's new manager and made a number of new additions to the sqaud.
The defender signed on a deal until the end of the season from Northampton Town.
Manchester-born Bunney has previously played for Stockport County, Northwich Victoria, Rochdale and Blackpool and joined Northampton in January last year.
After months of uncertainty and protests over the ownership of Ken Anderson, Wanderers last month announced the sale of the club to Football Ventures (Whites) Limited had been completed.
Wanderers currently sit bottom of League One after a points deduction.
