Bolton Wanderers have made their first signing of the summer by acquiring defender Jack Iredale on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old departed Cambridge United last week after turning down a new contract at Mark Bonner's side and has now joined Wanderers.
He has put pen to a paper on a three-year-deal at the University of Bolton Stadium as Ian Evatt gets his recruitment ahead of the 2022/23 campaign off to a flying start by making his first signing of the summer little over a week after their season drew to a close.

Iredale played a total of 89 games for the club after joining from Carlisle United in 2020 and was part of the team which won promotion to League One in the 2020/21 campaign.
Wanderers were last month reported to be among a few sides said to be interested in the defender, including Wigan Athletic and Preston North End.
The left-back was played out of position at times in the recently concluded season, at centre-back and as a holding midfielder, and drew high praise for his performances.
He arrives to act as competition for Declan John and could also be deployed on the left hand side of defence as an alternative to George Johnston, while his holding midfielder experience adds in the department dominated by MJ Williams.
Evatt said: "This is a great start to what we want to do this summer in terms of adding to the squad and thanks again to Sharon and the board for allowing us to move so quickly
“Jack is a player we’ve been keen on for a while and a proven performer at League One level, who we believe can also operate higher.
“He will provide genuine competition for places, which is something we want in all positions as we will look to keep moving the team and the club forward.
“He is a talented defender and technically very good who will add to what we already have and we look forward to working with him next season and beyond.”
