Bolton Wanderers confirm Dennis Politic Port Vale decision as transfer development emerges

Bolton Wanderers has confirmed attacker Dennis Politic has been recalled from his loan spell at Port Vale after a bid for his services from another club was accepted.

The 21-year-old has been on loan at the League Two side this season and racked up 15 appearances with the Valiants, scoring five times.

He had been offered a fresh contract with Wanderers earlier this campaign, but this was turned down and his deal with the club is poised to run out this summer.

Now, Wanderers have confirmed Politic has been recalled from his loan spell at the Vale after a bid from another club was accepted, which according to reports in his native Romania is from Serie B club Cremonese in Italy and includes a transfer fee of around £50,000.

A Wanderers statement read: "Wanderers can confirm that striker Dennis Politic has been recalled from his loan spell at Port Vale.

"The move follows a bid which has been accepted from another club regarding a potential permanent transfer for the 21-year-old, who has been on loan with League Two Vale since August."

A statement from Port Vale read: "Port Vale Football Club can confirm that Dennis Politic has been recalled by his parent club, Bolton Wanderers.

"The 22-year-old Romanian joined the Valiants on loan in August 2021 and made 15 appearances in all competitions - scoring five goals.

"These included a goal on his competitive debut against Leyton Orient and two Emirates FA Cup goals that helped Port Vale through to the Third Round of the competition.

"Port Vale would like to thank Bolton Wanderers for allowing us to have the player on loan.

"We would also like to thank Dennis for his contributions this season and wish him all the best for the future."

When asked about the state of play with Politic last week, Evatt had hinted that the player's time at Wanderers was near its conclusion.

Confirming that Politic would not be recalled to play for Bolton, he said: "We have other targets, we have other forward options and we offered Dennis a contract, he didn’t sign the contract so we’ve drawn a line under that one and we’ll move on.”
