Bolton recycling centres and tips: Opening times and directions

When things start to get a bit overcrowded and cluttered, sometimes you just need a good clear-out.

While most things can be chucked into your regular rubbish and recycling bins, some items just won't cut it.

For example, if you've bought a new hoover and want to recycle your old one, or if you've managed to hack back your overgrown garden and find you have bags and bags of green waste.

Thankfully, you can take it all to your local tip and recycling centre free of charge - of which there are two in council-run centers in Bolton.

Hurstwood Court

As listed on the Bolton Council website, Hurstwood is open Monday to Sunday from 8am until 6pm.

The address is: Hurstwood Court, Raikes Lane, Bolton, BL3 2NP.

Coming from Bolton town centre, take Newport Street and continue on A579.

Take St Peter's Way/A666 to Raikes Lane/B6536.

Then take the exit for Raikes Lane.

Over Hulton

Also listed on the Bolton Council website, Over Hulton is open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 6pm.

On Sundays and Bank Holidays, it's open from 10am until 4pm.

Coming from Bolton town centre, take Great Moor Street and Ormrod Street to Moor Lane/A676.

Continue on A676. Take Hulton Lane/A6145 and St Helens Road/A576 to Salford/A6.
