Bolton manager Ian Evatt says Shola Shoretire is fit and available for the club’s clash with Cheltenham this weekend despite being forced off in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Carlton.
The attacker suffered a back spasm and was substituted 56 minutes into his third Wanderers appearance, which was his second start for his new loan club. The 29-year-old secured a move to the University of Bolton Stadium last month with United keen for the teenager to get more first-team minutes under his belt.
Shoretire came on for 27 minutes on his debut against Derby a fortnight ago before enjoying his first Bolton win when he started against League One bottom club Forest Green Rovers three days later.

His third outing was cut short but boss Evatt says it was nothing serious and that Shoretire is available for selection on Saturday. “Shola is fine, he has trained all week. It was just an impact injury really,” he explained.
Bolton are vying for promotion in league One, currently sitting fifth inside the play-off positions. Speaking after last weekend’s win Evatt was praiseful of Shoretire’s first-half impact prior to his exit.
He said: “Shola was really exciting in the first half – he was electric – some of the pockets and positions he took up, I was really pleased with that.” Shoretire’s move to Bolton is the first loan switch of his career having tallied a total of five senior appearances at United.
His last outing for the Reds came in the 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at the end of last season and so hasn’t played competitively under Erik ten Hag, albeit featured in a number of friendlies for him during both pre-season and the mid-season break.
