Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, 54, was reportedly stabbed during a scuffle with an intruder at his home in Mumbai, India. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, leading to Khan undergoing surgery at a local hospital.
Khan, who resides in Mumbai with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, and their two sons, sustained six wounds during the altercation. Two of the wounds were described as deep, with one located near his spine, according to reports from Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.
Reports suggest that the intruder forcibly entered Khan's residence around 2:30 a.m. and fled the scene after stabbing the actor. A female employee at the house was also injured in the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident and are actively searching for the attacker. In a statement, Kapoor reassured the public that their family is safe and urged the media and fans to refrain from speculation as the police conduct their inquiries.
Saif Ali Khan, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, has appeared in numerous films and television series, amassing critical acclaim and accolades throughout his career. The son of former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore, Khan has received several prestigious awards, including seven Filmfare Awards and the Padma Shri in 2010.
