Bojan Miovski thanks Aberdeen supporters for helping him fall in love with the club

Bojan Miovski has penned Aberdeen an emotional farewell following his club-record transfer to Girona.

Miovski was adored by the Aberdeen support - and you can see from the messages of goodwill how fondly the Red Army deem him. They stayed back in their thousands after Sunday's 3-1 Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren to give the 25-year-old striker a huge send-off.

Aberdeen fans, led by those in the Red Shed, repeatedly chanted Miovski's name as the player struggled to hold back the tears. He knew appearance No.98 would be his final one for the north-east club.

That feeling is reciprocated though, regardless of the Dons forward sealing a switch to La Liga, where he will get the opportunity to play Champions League football this season. Girona finished third in the Spanish top-flight last time out, only behind giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Taking to social media after his £6.8million move was confirmed, the North Macedonian talisman thanked the Aberdeen FC community for making him "fall in love with the club" and admitted the unwavering positive support from the Pittodrie terraces helped him become a more confident footballer.

Miovski scored 26 goals during the 2023/24 campaign, and despite constant rumours about his future since the begging of summer, he maintained his professionalism and continued to play with a smile on his face.

"Hello Aberdeen fans," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "First I want to thank you all for the wonderful two years that I spent in this great club, fantastic city and amazing people.

"You made me feel like home, you made me improve myself, especially in being strongly confident footballer player with your support because I always knew that you believed in me no matter what.

"From my side I always gave every atom of my spirit, so I can at least try to give back what you give to me. You learned me how to fall in love with the club. Thank you very much on that.

"I will always be grateful that you give me this support in my 2 year journey in Aberdeen. Continuing that, I'll be your biggest supporter and I wish the boys all the best this season and in the future. Once a Don always a Don. #ComeonyouREDS."
