Bojan Miovski in Aberdeen FC injury boost as timeline laid bare ahead of massive season

Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski is set to ramp up his return from injury and take part in pre-season at Pittodrie.

The North Macedonia striker missed the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying defeats to Ukraine and England after he was stretchered off in the Dons last home game of the Scottish Premiership campaign against St Mirren following a heavy challenge from Thierry Small left him with ankle ligament damage. Barry Robson's side face a packed start to the campaign having secured European football last term with the first leg of their Europa League playoff clash scheduled for August 24 – just days after the league campaign in Scotland kicks off again on the weekend of August 6.

Concerns had been growing among the Aberdeen support that the frontman could miss a chunk of the pre-season preparations with the injury - with the 23-year-old coming off a campaign that saw him rack up 18 goals. However, he looks set to join the rest of the squad next month.

Macedonian journalist Filip Mishov offered the Granite City support a positive update as he mapped out the forward's return timeline. He tweeted: "Bojan Miovski was given all clear yesterday to take off the protective boot and the Macedonia striker is set to arrive in Aberdeen early next week to start pre-season and continue his rehabilitation. The 23-year-old is expected to join the first-team squad on July 10!"

At the time of the injury, Miovski was positive about his fitness for the new campaign. He said: "Only luck saved me from a more serious injury. At first I really feared the worst. However, the scan showed that I have no problem and what is damaged will be rehabilitated by the body itself and that there is no need for an operation."
