Todd Boehly has been told that Chelsea don't necessarily need to spend heavily during the January transfer window. The Blues spent over £270 million this summer - more than any other Premier League club.
Chelsea bolstered their squad in defence, midfield and attack, with Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang three of the more high-profile arrivals. Of course, all of the summer additions were brought to the club by Thomas Tuchel, but Glen Johnson believes Graham Potter doesn't need to bring in lots of his own players this winter.
Given the way they've started the season both domestically and in Europe, many will be expecting Chelsea to recruit heavily in January as Potter looks to form a squad in his own image. Former Chelsea full-back Johnson believes Potter won't have to sign a number of players in the winter, although he says a few members of the squad may leave due to not wanting to be at the club.

"I’m a fan of Potter but it’s one thing being at Brighton and getting players to play than it is going into the top of world football with the best players, competing against the best teams in the best competitions," Johnson told Express Sport.
"If he can get the Chelsea side playing as good as Brighton were then they’re certainly going to improve.
"I think they’ve got a good enough squad, to be honest. I think his priority will be getting used to the players, settling in and just trying to get his feet under the desk.
"I don’t think he necessarily needs to go and sign certain players but just needs to find out the players that don’t want to be there, and the ones that do, and then cipher it out that way."
