Body thought to be that of missing Lanarkshire man is discovered

A body has been discovered in the search for a missing Lanarkshire man.

Daniel Rooney vanished from the Dukes Road area in Rutherglen around 10.40pm on Saturday, September 3.

Lanarkshire Live understands the discovery was made at the Whitelees Windfarm near Eaglesham yesterday, where a "large police presence" was seen and the 37-year-old's car was found.

He is yet to be formally identified, but Daniel's family have been informed.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesman told us : "A body has been found in Glasgow during searches for Daniel Rooney, 37, who had been reported missing from Rutherglen.

"He is yet to be formally identified but Mr Rooney’s family has been made aware.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances."
