Gardai have identified the body of a man pulled from the Royal Canal in Dublin on Sunday.
The body of the man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was pulled from the water at the Ballybough Bridge section of the waterway near Croke Park on Sunday afternoon at 12.30pm. Gardai positively identified the man on Monday, and his death is believed to be the result of a tragic incident.
Gardai were not able to immediately identify the body as the man was not found carrying any wallet or ID on his person, according to the Irish Independent. He was dressed in clothes which made it appear that he had been on the way back from a night out, and he was carrying a mobile phone and a set of ear buds when he died.
