Body pulled from sea at popular Doc Martin seaside town in hunt for missing man

A body has been pulled from the sea at the picturesque seaside town used in the popular show Doc Martin.

During the search for a missing man, Devon and Cornwall Police were alerted to reports of a body discovered in the water near Doyden Castle, in Port Isaac, around 1.45pm on Monday.

With assistance from RNLI, the body was retrieved.

Police say the death isn’t being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of 35-year-old Harry Dalkins, who was missing from Lelant, have been made aware of this development.

Harry was last seen getting off a bus in St Ives at the bus station at around 10.25pm on June 17.

Officers appealed to the public for help locating him before the latest tragic development.

Port Isaac is used to film the popular TV series Doc Martin and doubles for Portwenn in the show.

After first appearing on screens back in 2004, the show wrapped up filming in the south west town last year.
