POLICE have confirmed a body has been pulled from the Clyde after reports that someone was in the water.
Emergency service crews were spotted at the A77 bridge, which runs from Jamaica Street into Bridge Street, at around 5.25pm last night.
Officers have now confirmed they have recovered the body of a man, although he has not yet been identified.
They said the death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident are still ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.25pm on Thursday, 5 December, police were called to a report of someone in the River Clyde near Jamaica Street, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and searches were carried out.
“The body of a man was later recovered from the water.
“The death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing to identify him and establish the full circumstances.”
