A body has been pulled from a canal in Glasgow this morning.
Emergency services raced to the Forth and Clyde canal, near Firhill Road, after the alarm was made be a concerned local at around 11.30pm on Saturday. Mercy crews carried out a frantic search before the body of a man was discovered at around 9.20am on Sunday.
Police say their enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing. They do not, however, believe that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023, officers received a report of concern for a person at the Forth and Clyde canal, near Firhill Road, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and searches were carried out.
"Around 9.20am on Sunday, June 4, 2023, the body of a man was recovered from the water.
Enquiries are ongoing and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
