The body of a tech CEO missing for 18 months has been found after a mysterious text to 911.
Human remains were found in the yard outside an abandoned building in Santa Monica, California, and are believed to belong to Beau Mann.
The 39-year-old tech mogul was last seen in surveillance footage taken at a cornershop on November 30, 2021.
The human remains were first found on April 25 and they were identified as Mr Mann's on May 6.
The victim was last heard from by his fiancé Jason Abate the night before he disappeared. The two were in a long distance relationship and they were set to marry in June 2022.
Mr Mann was the founder of Sober Grid, an app to help addicts overcome their addiction.
Mr Abate began to get worried after his texts stopped going through and he eventually reached out to Los Angeles police to do a welfare check.
According to the concerned fiance, police told him that they needed someone else to be present at Mr Mann's apartment to conduct the check.
Mr Abate contacted Mr Mann's assistant but when they finally made a visit they did not find the missing person.
A missing persons ' report was filed on December 4 2021 but no trace of him was found until now.
Investigators found out the missing Mr Mann had been dropped off by an Uber at a 7-Eleven.
The Uber driver was investigated but officers said they did not believe foul play took place.
He was then dropped off at Berkeley Street in Santa Monica at 2.35 pm.
His body was found about a mile from where his Uber dropped him off.
His family went through his phone records and saw that the last text he sent was to 911, asking for help.
An investigator on the case admitted they did receive a 911 message from Mr Mann and "several attempts were made to contact [him] via that correspondence."
A witness who lives nearby the scene where the body was found described the moment the coroner arrived to take the remains.
Roy Mooneyham told NBC: "The body was found right over here. Police were originally standing above it and taking pictures of it.
"I watched him fold that body bag up onto the table. A body wouldn’t fold like that unless it was a skeleton."
The cause of death is unknown but investigations from the Santa Monica Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division and the LA County's Coroner's Office continue.
His fiance Mr Abate said: “I just hope that he didn’t suffer."
